How Methadone Clinics Work
Methadone is a medication that is specifically designed to support those experiencing opioid withdrawal. This medication provides relief from the intense withdrawal symptoms that can occur when an individual stops using opioids. With medical oversight, this FDA-approved medication is safe for long-term use. We use methadone in combination with case management and counseling services as part of the comprehensive treatment approach we provide at our outpatient opioid addiction treatment center.
Initial Induction
– Manage Withdrawal –
Initially, our team members review the patient’s medical history and monitor each patient’s withdrawal symptoms. Depending on their symptoms, our treatment experts will provide doses of methadone and ensure that they are safe throughout the withdrawal process.
Outpatient Treatment
– Heal –
During the outpatient treatment process, our patients will receive methadone according to our clinician’s recommendation. In addition, the patient can participate in group therapy and one-on-one counseling. Therapy allows them to address the underlying issues surrounding their opioid use.
Medical Taper
– Recover –
As our patients continue through treatment, they may benefit from medically tapering off of methadone. However, other clients may continue to receive medication to help them through the long-term recovery process. We will determine whether to continue using the medication based on the patient’s unique needs.
Methadone Clinical Services
Throughout the patient’s recovery, they can benefit from a complementary combination of our services.
