Man stepping across water

Day 2 at BrightView

Please plan to be at BrightView for the majority of the day. Day 2 of Induction can last up to 5 hours.

You are welcome to and responsible for bringing your own lunch and/or snacks. We offer water, vending and complimentary small snacks. However, we ask that you provide your own lunch.

We ask that you arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled visit to ensure timeliness of appointments. Upon checking in at the front desk, you will be escorted to the medical lab by one of our medical assistants.

Here is the step-by-step process of how the day will progress:

Step 1 – Medical Assessment
Step 2 – Physician Follow-Up
Step 3 – Observed Dosing & Labs
Step 4 – Scheduling & Case Management

STEP ONE
MEDICAL ASSESSMENT

You will be assessed by our medical staff. They will take your vitals and administer the Clinical Opioid Withdrawal Scale. They will answer any questions and/or concerns you may have regarding your medications, symptoms, timing, and dosages.

STEP TWO
PHYSICIAN FOLLOW-UP

You will meet with the doctor for follow-up about any medications and/or questions you may have. If there are no concerns regarding your continued treatment, the physician will sign off on your chart.

STEP THREE
OBSERVED DOSING & LABORATORY WORK-UP

You will be medically observed taking your medication. Our nursing staff observes you in order to ensure that you are taking your medication in a proper and safe fashion. When you have been observed for approximately an hour and you are feeling well, the staff will conduct a final set of vitals. If all is well, you will be medically discharged from the facility.

In addition, the staff will draw blood for any routine testing that the physician feels is appropriate for your continued care.

STEP FOUR
PROGRAM SCHEDULING & CASE MANAGEMENT

The last (and most important) step of Day 2, is to meet with your case manager, who is a Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) to:

  • Schedule appointments for group counseling sessions
  • Assign a primary counselor and schedule appointments accordingly
  • Address immediate needs such as housing, food, clothing, etc…
  • Create a treatment plan including identifying two goals along with therapeutic objectives
  • Reviewing clinical and medical services available to you
  • Schedule two follow-up appointments with the doctor
  • Answer any questions about our services

After meeting with the case manager, you will be discharged from the facility with a list of your scheduled appointments, a list of your group therapy sessions, and your group orientation time and date. You MUST attend ALL of these scheduled events (or reschedule with our front desk). Thank you.
