Courtney received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminology-Sociology from Ohio University but wasn’t quite ready to leave so she went on to pursue her Master’s in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling to secure two additional years in Athens. Upon leaving OU, Courtney took a job working in Outpatient Medication Assisted Treatment in Wilmington, North Carolina. After a year, she returned home to Columbus where she worked at Maryhaven for 5 1/2 years as a counselor in MAT services and a counselor and eventually the supervisor of a program designed to assist offenders in the Federal criminal justice system who have been identified as having mental health and/or substance abuse concerns. In November 2016, she relocated to the Cincinnati area to pursue working in a private practice and at BrightView as a group facilitator. Courtney enjoys working in a career field where she gets to help people help themselves.
